About Us

Center for Resolutions is a non-profit organization providing alternative dispute resolution services throughout Delaware and Chester Counties.  Our mission is to empower youth, adults, families, businesses, and communities in discovering their own potential to generate effective, lasting resolutions and alternatives to conflict.

Center for Resolutions was established in 1976 out of the need to provide mediation services as an alternative to the courts. We now administer a wide array of dispute resolution programs encompassing restorative justice,  mediation, facilitation, conflict coaching, bullying prevention, school based programs, youth aid panels, trainings, and community education.

COSA's
Protective Service Case Managers
Benefit from Mediation Training

COSA's  protective service case
managers in Delaware County recently completed  Basic Mediation Training.  After learning about mediation they identified mediation skills and strategies as a much needed component for interventions. COSA's programs aim to enable senior citizens to maintain their independence and dignity, remain in their own homes and communities with appropriate support services, and to deter or prevent unnecessary institutionalization.  Protective service case managers investigate reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment of persons.  These situations often involve conflict, either with the elderly person they're checking on or between family members, neighbors or friends. The mediation training focuses on effective communication skills, problems solving strategies, collaborative decision making methods, and agreement building techniques.  These skills enable case managers  to manage and reduce conflict with the goal of providing the best service to the elderly individuals they serve.

Center for Resolutions runs Youth Court in Chester High School

CFR attended Chester Youth Courts Forum at the US  Attorney General's Office in Philadelphia.  CFR is proud to announce their participation in implementing and leading a Youth Court in a Chester, PA high school.  Gregg Volz, a public interests lawyer, pioneered the City of Chester Youth Courts project.  "Youth courts are effective alternatives to the traditional school disciplinary system which often pushes students out of schools."
